First Shield (Clear)
Pros: Quality, Easy to use
Cons: a bit pricey.
With USA Hockey requiring referees to wear face shields from now on, I purchased this shield based on a good word from a friend.
I am still getting used to wearing a shield, a little glare here and there, and sometimes I feel like I am in a fish bowl, but from reffing 14 years without any shield I guess that is what I should expect starting to wear one.
Overall the shield is very lightweight, flexible and seems durable. Bauer claims to have a anti-scratch technology that seems to hold truth to its word so far playing a few roller hockey games with it.
The installation of the clips may be a little hard depending on what helmet you have, but overall it was an easy install. Once the clips are on, the visors are a snap to change on/off.
I thought the visor was a bit pricey at $80, especially if you can get 2 more extra visors for $40 without the clips on them... I do not understand that.
All in all I would recommend this visor, especially if you have some rewards points to spend up and get a discount on them it would be a great value.
