Bauer Nexus 600 Ice Skate

The Bauer Nexus 600 Ice Skates move you into a strong, highly competitive mid-level boot. These skates are lightweight, strong, and play well above their pay-level. The lightweight boot is comprised of a variable stiffness compression molded EVA foam quarter package that is wrapped in a high performance nylon. By varying the stiffness, Bauer gives you the best of both worlds - A stiff boot where you need (surrounding the ankle) and flexible where you don't (where your ankle becomes the foot). This allows the skate to load energy when flexed yet still keeps your ankles fully supported and locked in.A hydrophobic performance woven liner cradles your feet and keeps germs at bay. While the patented pro-integrated heel/ankle support helps to lock the foot in place and increases energy transfer from foot to ice. Heat moldable Anaform ankle pads wrap the foot and ankle in custom fit comfort and speed up the break-in time. A heavyweight 48oz 2-piece felt tongue with molded metatarsal guard protects the forefoot from impact. FormFit+ footbeds with grip stabilizers reduce foot slippage within the boot while also wicking moisture away from the skin. A full carbon fiber outsole directly translates movement to the ice and connects to the TUUK Lightspeed 2 holder and super stainless runners that round out the package nicely.

Finally a wide toe box
Pros: Great value, Quality, great fit
As I have gotten older, my feet have succumbed to my increased girth. As such, my Bauer Supreme 3000 of yesteryear would constantly cause me pain across my feet. It felt as though my feet were in a vice where pressure was being applied from either side. However, I have relatively narrow feet. The problem is/was the width of the toe box. Apparently, as we get older and heavier our toes splay out more. The Bauer Nexus brand has a wide toe box in all its models. I chose the 600 given the sale price. I went with the D width and I have since added the Yellow Super Feet foot beds to give me a secure fit and prevent my heel from moving. I also recommend adding waxed laces to keep the skates tight throughout the entire game.

Wide Feet? No Problem!
Pros: Helped improve my game, Great value, Quality, Easy to use, Features
I have a very wide foot and have always struggled to find skates that fit well. These skates are well designed for wide feet. There is plenty of room in the skate as well as the toe cap. I am very happy with the performance of these skates and my feet are happy as well. The salesmen at Burnsville store were awesome in helping me with this purchase. Thanks guys!

Comfort for a wide foot! No more lace bite!
Pros: Helped improve my game, Quality, Easy to use, Features, fit for a wide foot! awesome!, look
Cons: Expensive
I was lucky enough to be able to visit the Chesterfield and St. Peters, MO stores to get these skates fitted and baked. Those guys are awesome!
This Bauer Nexus skate is very comfortable. I have a wider foot and had been wearing a very uncomfortable CCM U+ skate for 4 years.
Before you "assume" you need to buy a wide boot, try the normal width. I usually get a wide skate/shoe but the 9.6D skate I got has a lot of room in the toe box. It was awesome that I could actually move my toes a little. These skates look great also.
One other feature for CCM users considering a change, Bauer's tongues are stiffer and will protect from skate/lace bite on your ankle. My CCM tongue had broken down and was causing me issues. Bauer has plastic in their tongues that keep the laces off your foot/ankles.
This is an mid-expensive skate ($369) but is worth it for someone like me who has been skating for 6 years (as a 43 year old adult) and gets on the ice 2-5 times a week.

Excellent skate for wide feet
Pros: Helped improve my game, Great value, Quality
For years I have played the game, but dreaded putting on skates because they hurt my very wide feet. I could run a marathon in these skates they are so comfortable. The heat mold also really helps get them fitted perfectly. Definitely recommend this skate to guys with wider feet.
