Reebok 14K Leg Pads

The Reebok 14K leg pad is a fantastic option for the beginner or intermediate goalie. The pads feature the same graphics and flat faced design of the Premier 4 leg pads, but the feature softer knee to help the pad move with the goalie's leg more easily. Additionally, the internal pad foam mold has a softer FLEXCORE boot break built in, which is great for goalies who want more flex in the ankle. The knee lock has been modified in the 14K to include Reebok's new MAXCOVERAGE design. On the inside of the knee, this design features a wider, thicker knee raiser which provides a more stable landing platform while going into the butterfly, as well as an additional blocking surface when going into your knees together/ankles together Giggy-fly when blocking five hole shots. On the outside of the knee, the outermost knee cradle flap has been significantly shortened, and a new, additional knee lock strap postion at the top of the outside calf flap can create an extremely wide, extremely loose fitting knee setup. By opening up the knee, the pad is allowed to slide towards the inside of the goalies leg, which presents a smaller five hole to the shooter. Goalies who like a traditional set up can also attach the knee lock strap to the outer knee lock flap, which holds the knee more tightly to the pad.On the inside edge of the pad, the calf position has been moved forward and includes a 1/2 HD foam SOLIDSEAL pad to provide a more stable butterfly platform, as well as an additional blocking surface on the ice. At the knee, the traditional straps that run outside and over the top of the knee raisers have now been run through channels in the knee raiser itself. By moving the strap position, the straps are kept from pulling the thigh rise up off of the ice when going into the butterfly. Combined with the SOLIDSEAL calf wrap, both of these features give the pad a complete seal to the ice in the butterfly. * Double break outer roll for increased flexibility * Open leg channel with calf wraps * Full leather adjustable leg straps * A new softer boot option for goalies wanting more flex at the ankle

BEST PAD FOR THE PRICE!!!!
Pros: Helped improve my game, Great value, Quality, Easy to use, Features
I'm an aging goal tender that played hockey all the way through college. I have always purchased high end pro model pads often in custom settings and colors. As I age my flexibility has decreased and my butterfly has narrowed causing the pro model pads with the stiffer knees to open my five hole while in a butterfly and also expose my knees more. Being that I currently am playing in a bar league hockey and didn't want to spend a ton of money with not knowing how many years I had left, the price was right on these pads. My concerns were the description on these pads were advertised as for beginners or intermediates and I'm far from either with my experience. The other concern I had was would they hold up, understanding how entry level pads were constructed back in the day. I was astonished at how well these pads are constructed for entry level pads and I have to say they are some of the most comfortable pads I have ever strapped to my legs. They felt almost game ready out of the box and broke in very quickly. They do a very good job at kicking rebounds to the corners. My butterfly is once again closed down tight in the five hole due to the double break and softer knees and I slide very easily. Out of the box I was surprised at the strapping ability to customize to different locations. The reviews on these pads are high for a reason and I stand behind them 110%. Even at an entry level, Reebok has set the bar very high with these pads. If you are on the fence with these, I would say have no reserve on picking yours up today, you won't be disappointed.

Better Than Advertised
Pros: Helped improve my game, Great value, Quality, Easy to use, Features
Cons: yea none.
Picked these up in store to replace an older set of Itech RX-5's that I bought when I started. Night and day difference. They are a little heavier, but fit and move better so they actually 'play' lighter.
Having all the straps and the luxury of moving or completely removing a couple is nice. I've had them on tight and lose, and either way they fly around the crease with me and seal to the ice every time. Missing a completely adjustable knee lock like the Bauer line, oh well.
Kicks bigger rebounds than my older pads, but their still new. I also like throwing pucks into the corners anyways, so its not a problem. There is no concern with taking heavy slappers either, just kick them away like anything else!
Overall a fantastic purchase, only issue is that they didn't have all whites in stock, but when you're anxious, who cares. The little splash of silver pops just enough and can easily be matched with color wise when buying other brands. Worth the money if you're not playing high level.
