Pros: Helped improve my game, Great value, Quality
Cons: live blade can make passing difficult at first
So here I was...Sitting on $30 in Breakaway Rewards and a $15 gift card...just looking for an excuse to buy something. I've been wanting to try a CCM stick, and was thinking the RBZ 60 would fit the bill. Then my focus turned to the now clearance CL and CS...and I stumbled upon the Midnight CL. $50 less??? Done and done.
I bought the Couterierierierierier blade, as it's identical to the Easton pattern that I use, and my first impressions were positive. Even though this is a 'grip' stick, it's a very subtle coating. No worries about destroying gloves or limited hand movement up and down this sturdy black shaft (OooooooooOooooooooOooooooo...). As far as appearance goes, mine didn't have the graphite CCM logo that you see in these pics...so I don't know if the lighting was off when the pic was taken or what. Also, this stick feels LIGHT...and I mean to the point where it feels fragile. I was afraid to use it the first time I took it skating.
So far, though, it has proven it's mettle. The thing is an absolute rocket launcher. I tend to gravitate towards higher end sticks, and my wrist shot just jumps off of this stick more than any others I've tried. My only negative thus far has been with receiving passes. The blade is very stiff and not too forgiving...I definitely prefer giving/receiving passes with my Warrior Widow, but I'll give this one more time.
Overall, great stick, and an incredible value at this price. Recommended.
