Pros: Helped improve my game, Easy to use, Great value, Quality, Features, extra comforatable
I've skated many years and the Reebok 14K are the most comfortable skates I've ever worn. For years I've been in pain skating, but just thought that was the norm as others have testified. Pressure points on the ankles and instep and top of the toes were common on my wide, flat feet and big ankle and toe bones. I felt pressure points even with the wider Bauer Supremes. These skates run wide (or better designed) and the ankle padding is excellent inside. Plenty of room in the toe. There is some give in the shell but sufficiently stiff and well designed for good energy transfer. There was a notable increase in my speed on the ice the first time out. Break in time was short and they seem more durable than the more expensive 2011 11K's....though time will tell. I've been hit in the skate with a shot already and no problem. The skate is higher up my ankle than my Easton 800C's of the past for added protection. The 14K's are the lightest in the K line at 836 g on my scale (~1 13/16 lbs), lighter than my 800C's by a little. I would suggest trying 2 sizes down from shoe size due to extra width. I did and they fit like a glove with an 8d. The pump works great, putting air around the achilles heel, securing the ankle in the skate. I like the lace lock, though some don't. This skate combines everything skate manufacturers have been trying to accomplish for the past several years (support, comfort, energy transfer, light weight and protection) at an excellent price for what you get.
