This is definitely a 2-sided review.
Right from my first game in these skates, I felt much more confident in my skating. Coming from a U+CL, the stiffness was similar, but the support seemed much better. My ankles did not wobble or flop as with the CL, and my strides were longer and stronger. Without any break in, i felt my turning and edge work was better, and i was more confident edging, stopping, and making quick cuts.
However, these skates caused me an incredible amount of discomfort. The CCM CL was the first skate I've ever owned that did not cause me pain, and these unfortunately did not follow suit. I bought a 10.5D (same as my CCM), but found the arch on both feet and forefoot on my big foot were in terrible pain, that lasted through the night after rmy first couple games on them. However, my usual pressure points (ankle bone, big toe knuckle) were fine, so the comfort and padding in these skates really is nice.
If you have wide feet, don't be afraid to try an EE, though the heel may feel sloppy. I am going to try an EE Supreme next, and hopefully those are the right fit.
Again, i'd recommend the skate highly to anyone with a medium/wide foot- If you're too wide for a D but too small for an EE, these are the skates for you!
