Bauer RX8 Composite Goal Stick

The RX8 composite goalie stick is Bauer's updated version of the popular Vapor X:50 goalie stick, with updated graphics. As with all of the sticks in the RX line, the RX8 was designed with mobility and playability in mind. Active goaltenders who need a maneuverable stick, and who like the play the puck, will enjoy the RX8.The shaft of the RX8 is designed using Bauer's Double Concave Geometry - a design that features concave sidewalls, a flat top and bottom, and rounded corners for a comfortable, secure grip. At the midpoint of the shaft, and again at the shoulder (the area of the stick where the paddle meets the shaft), Bauer has added contoured, semi-tacky grip zones. The Grip Zone at the midpoint of the shaft (on the back side) has been optimally placed to give the goalie an added control point when using an overhand grip to play the puck. The Control Zone at the shoulder provides for a secure grip while controlling the stick during normal play, and it also allows the goalie to securely grasp the stick with the catch glove while shooting the puck in the traditional manner. The paddle of the RX8 features Bauer's Asymetric Paddle Geometry - a flat-faced design on the puck facing side, which has two important benefits. First, the flat surface increases rebound control, as a the trajectory of a puck that is played off of a flat face is easier to control than the trajectory of a puck played off of a paddle with a curved surface. Second, due to the fact that less material is used in creating a flat faced paddle, the stick is lighter than similiar, traditionally designed composites. The paddle and blade are made of fiberglass, which is wrapped in Carbon for added durability. Bauer's Aerospace foam - a light weight material used to both decrease stick weight and reduce stick vibration - is injected into the paddle, and a low density foam is injected into the blade. The RX8 comes in three colors: white/black/gray, white/red/gray, and white/blue/gray. As each manufacturer measures their sticks in their own unique way, we created this method to help you compare your stick at home with the models that we have in our inventory. By knowing how your current stick size compares to the stick that you're looking to purchase, you can make the best purchasing decision possible. To measure your current stick, place the end of the tape measurer at the point where the top of the paddle meets the shaft of the stick on the non-blade side. Then, measure down the paddle in a straight line until the tape measurer crosses the bottom of the blade to determine the TG True paddle size. Keep in mind that this measurement may vary depending on the blade pattern, but it will help you choose the most comparable size.

This stick offers so much more than any other stick at this price. The grip zones, flat paddle face and seems much lighter than other sticks around this price.

Light weight and strong

Cons: Expensive
Very light stick and seems to stand up to direct slapshots quite well. Used it in one session and worked like a charm. The grip points are awesome. Sounds funny when you bang it on your posts though. LOL
I was a llittle sketchy at first paying so much for a goalie stick, but I think the durability is there.

Bauer makes the best forward and goalie stick.
Pros: Helped improve my game, Great value, Quality, Easy to use, Features
Bauer surely made the RX series of sticks and
pads worth every cent. With lightweight stick with a grip zone just under where the tape should for a controlled poke-check and on the shoulder (middle) of the stick for a smooth and stickey grip for a surperior stance.
