I purchased the Vaughn Vision 9500 chest & arm protector a month ago after deciding my 10 year-old Brian's chest & arm had seen enough action. I've worn it about a dozen times so far for practice and games and have been very impressed. It fits great and I love that the shoulder floaters stay firmly in place. It's much thicker than my previous pad but this hasn't harmed mobility. Break-in has been no problem. I've noticed I haven't felt a stinger since I started wearing this pad. The design of the upper arm protection had also made it difficult for pucks to slip through under my arms.
My only complaint would be that it seems to be warmer than my previous chest & arm. I've noticed that I can get pretty hot while playing and this was never a problem with my previous Brian's pad.
I now wear a majority of Vaughn equipment and I'm very pleased with all of it. Thank you Vaughn and Total Hockey!

It's the lightest and by far the most comfortable and natural feeling c/a I've used. Spectacular freedom of movement without binding or restricting, and 1000 times cooler than my old Itech. Excellent protection across the midsection and in the elbow. Upper arm protection is better than average. Not quite as spectacular in the collar bone and shoulder area, though. I've had a couple high, very hard slapshots leave me really sore... sore, but without serious damage. Dries quickly, cleans easily, not prone to reeking (especially if you spray it with a little lysol or anti-funk), the straps stay where you want them and so does the c/a no matter how much you reach, flip around or otherwise get your Tim Thomas on. And if you follow Vaughn's sizing charts to the letter, the c/a you get will fit perfectly right out of the box. Overall, I've been really, really happy with mine.
