I've only had the stick for a few weeks so we'll see about durability. However, it has taken several direct hits, blade and shaft, from slap-shots without chips or cracks. I've used Warrior, Easton and Reebok sticks in the past and I like this one the best. Puck feel is much better and snap and wrist shots are coming off hotter. all in all a great product for the discounted price. My only gripe is the graphics. I have the Nash and it's a nasty maroon color. Can't have everything though.

I think all these sticks including this one are all overpriced but this one has good weight and feel and balance. I don't like the curve all that much but to each their own. the stick is very good quality.

I have used Sherwood T90's before the R8, compared to the T90 I love the feel of the puck. The texture is also a added nice touch. I wasn't sure if I would like it, but I love it!!!!!! Especially at this price you can't beat it.

WOW! Better than expected

I recently bought this stick because I broke my previous one (obviously). I picked this one based on the reviews at first. While at the store I picked it up and was shocked at how light it was. At only 435 grams, this thing is 80 grams lighter than the stick I was using. I saw an immediate increase in my stick handling abilities and it just felt so much better to skate with.
I am going to disagree with one of the previous reviews though about the flex. I have been an 85 flex player so I was a little hesitant to get the whip 70 flex. The above review says that the flex plays much stiffer than 70 but I think it is dead on. It definitely has more whip than my previous 85 flex stick, but I like it. It took me a little while to get used to the new curve, I got the Nash curve and love it, and the whipper flex. My snap and wrist shots are coming off much hotter and I can controll the height better. My slapper is totally different and I like it much more. Due to the whip and light weight of the stick my slapper is coming off extremely hot. I am also able to controll the height much better. I doubt the controll of height is due to the stick, probably just more confidence, but I'll take it. Like I said, the shot is coming off significantly harder and with more accuracy.
Overall, this stick is great. It is light, comes in great curve options, and has a great feel when shooting. I wish it came in better color options, mine is kind of a maroon color but looks black on the ice, so works for me. You can't beat the price for a stick of this weight. I was looking around doing research before I made my decision and this stick is only 9 grams heavier than one of the lightest sticks on the market and is over $100 less! Take some time to get used to it and you will not be disappointed.

A very underrated stick

Cons: flex rating is very misleading
The TPS R8 performs like a high end $200+ stick, but at a much lower price. It's the only stick in this price range you're going to find that's 435 grams. I noticed an immediate improvement in my stick-handling and shots. There's a textured grip zone only in the center of the shaft for your lower hand, which is a nice touch. Great shot power as well. Been using this stick for several months, taken hundreds of slap shots, dozens of slashes and a few shot blocks, the shaft has one minor chip and a hairline surface crack, no effect on performance whatsoever, the stick has proved to be very durable.
The only issue I have is with the flex rating. I got the 70 "whip" flex, but found that to be misleading. Comparing the flex to other sticks I've owned/tested out, this stick actually flexes like a 90-95 flex. I've grown to love this stick, but I initially purchased it to see how I'd like a really flexy stick, which this is not. If you want a stick with true "whip" flex, look elsewhere, but for those looking for a moderately price high performance stick with medium flex, the R8 is a gem.

This stick has nice balance and weight. It does not feel as light in your hands as some of the other sticks in its class, but is very light nonetheless.
It is very whippy, and gives great power to your shots. Although it is rated as 70 flex, I don't think that it is any more flexy than the 75 flex sticks that are out there. In fact, I have a Sher-wood 75 flex stick that I think has more flex than this one.
I found it to have good feel for passing and receiving passes as well.

Unbelievable performance, tremendous value. Whatever happens to the TPS brand in the future, I am glad these sticks are still available now. One of the best balanced sticks in the business, perfect balance. Exceptional kick, lively and responsive blade, and great durability. Puck feel is off the charts, shaft shape is perfect. Tactile grip zone in middle of shaft. There is a flex and pattern for everyone. Stock up while you can, I know I will be.

Overall a good stick. Not the best but for the price its a deal. Stick is fairly light and has a good balance its actually weighted in the middle which gives it a different feel at first. The bergeron is the sakic/p92 clone and has a grip finish on the middle part of the shaft which was unexpected. I dont particularly care for grip sticks but the shaft felt fine.Great power when it comes to shots, but the overall feel with stickhandling feels a bit soft. Overall a good stick, would have given it 5 stars if the blade didnt feel too soft.
