This was my son's third Vision or Epic chest protector. These only get replaced because he outgrows them, definitely not because of any problems.
The quality of this seems quite high for junior level gear. My son spends a lot of time on ice with travel hockey and multiple camps and clinics. The three Vaughn C/As that my son has had all were in really good shape with no damage to buckles, straps, etc. when he outgrew them. They weren't stained. The interior lining material of this Vision C/A doesn't soak up sweat and that helps keep it light (and maybe more importantly not smelly). The price of these is high compared to some other C/A, but the good news is we have found resale value to be high as well, so to us this is a good value.
Comfort is good according to my son. He actually prefers this model over the more expensive Velocity C/A because of how the Vision fits and seems more mobile and flexible. He hasn't complained about heat or weight. The velcro adjustments on the back of shoulders had me concerned at first, but stay in place during hockey and never move. My son wears his C/A outside of pants (Vaughn Epic) and over suspenders, but he has no problem with the C/A moving up during saves. I suspect if you tuck this and/or out suspenders over the C/A it will stay in place even better
Protection is top notch. In addition to travel hockey at peewee and now bantam age, my son occasionally practices with older midget players and grownups with no problems, bumps or bruises. The protection does not seem to breakdown over time.
