Brians H Series Leg Pad
The Brian's H-Series leg pad is the Sr. Pro version of the popular Zero G series leg pad, and it has been a top seller for Total Hockey since their release in 2011. The H-Series pad has nearly all of the features as the Zero G, but it has a mid-level price point. If you're a young, growing goalie playing at any level, or an adult goalie playing mid to high level hockey 1-2 times per week, you'll love the H-Series.One of the attributes that make the H-Series pad unique is the proprietary E-foam that is used in construction. This foam is not only incredibly light weight, but it is pre-molded into a dynamic S shape that, by itself (with little or no pad flex) will close the five hole on both narrow and wide butterflies. This E-Foam is rigid enough to hold the pad in this S shape and keep this shape throughout the life of the pad. Should you like even more pad flex, the H-Series comes with breaks both above and below the knee, as well as nylon thigh rise straps (which are also adjustable to different termination points on the thigh or knee). The boot of the H-Series is tapered, the shallow boot channel is offset towards the inside of the boot, and the toe tie features both a regular and offset tie option. Goalies who play using a wider stance will love this set-up, as it keeps the inside boot of the pad from interfering when the legs are flared out in a standing position. Both the leg channel and the knee cradle are flat and wide, allowing for easy pad rotation. The wide knee cradle also works well for those who wear internal knee pads, as they can easily wrap the knee lock strap around this bulkier protection.Like the Zero G, the H-Series is somewhat stiff out of the box, especially at the boot. The pad plays somewhat hard, meaning that rebounds will shoot away from it upon impact. Finally, you'll be hard pressed to find a lighter pad on the market today. According to our digital scale, a 33+1 pad weighs only 5.14lbs! Staff goalies who have tried the pad felt quicker when going into a butterfly, and we think that everyone will notice the difference after a long practice or a hard game. Best set of goalie pads ever

I got these in a store in Pittsburgh and I tried on multiple sets of different brand goalie pads and none felt as incredible as these. They have a really nice feel to them and they are very protective. They have a nice butterfly but they take a bit to break in. Over all really a really nice set of goalie pads!

BetterThan Expected!! Which is a big statement considering I was expecting a lot after reading all the other reviews...but yes my expectations were surpassed.
I had been using Bauer RX-8LE pads that were a bit too tall for me so I need to get a new set of pads.
The RX-8s are an unbelievable sets of pads...great 5 hole wall and really comfortable...so I wasn't sure why I was even considering a different pad, but I have always been a fan of Brian's equipment and the H-Series had such incredible reviews everywhere I looked I took a chance.
Wow...I am so glad that I did.....They have exceeded my expectations in all areas...They are lightweight, comfortable, slide exceptionally well and stay right were they need to be at all times.
I have a new found confidence in my game with these pads....the reviews of there pads showed a lot of pride and emotion..now I know why..
I think that the goalies that bought them are truly appreciative of having a product like this at a mid level price.
They are stiff out of the box, but some racthet straps and a couple hours of flexxing fixed that easily....but no issues playing in them like with most new pads....they felt like I had always been using them..great fit and predictable performance.

A note on the RX-8 vs Brian's H-Series... The RX-8 have a thicker top ridge on their par which does make for a very strong 5 hole wall and the Brian's are tapered, so keep that in mind depending upon your style and fit.

Replaces Bauer RX6

These pads replace my Bauer RX6 and the following are my experiences on the differences:
* Both the Bauer and Brian's pads are soft flex, but the Brian's feels and plays more like a medium flex. The flex point below the knee is very stiff making the pad feel and perform more like a medium flex.
* Pad break-in was slightly longer than the Bauer. I had the Bauer broken in by the 3rd game, the Brian's on the 5th.
* The build quality is much better and the straps are serviceable on the Brian's where as the Bauer straps are all sewn directly into the pad.
* The Brian's pad is thicker (depth) making slapshots less felt and they bounce farther out upon impact. The Bauer pads where thinner making slapshots felt and would drop the puck right in front where the Brian's would kick it much farther out.
* Brian's feel more comfortable (snug) fitting - better protection. The only reason why I didn't rate it 5 stars for comfort is because when you stand straight up, the pads curvature makes is slightly annoying. You need to bend your knees slightly to fit the contour of the pads. Perhaps this is because they need more break in?
Overall you pay for what you get and I was not disappointed.

The brians h series pads are a great value. The quality compares to pro series pads. The pads come with an "s" shape staright from the factory, which makes for a very easy break in. During my first session with the pads, i felt great in them. Only con I could mention is that my left pad does not always square up after butterflying. I'm going to try loosening some straps to try fixing it. It's not a huge problem. I am very satisfied with the pads overall. Great buy for the money!

I was torn between the H series and the Pro version, but the savings of ~$800 was too good to pass up. Side by side, these pads are nearly identical, with just slight differences between the 2 which don't really impact the performance of the pad.
The good: great knee cradle and I'm getting effortless rotation going into the butterfly with great knee protection as it rotates. The 2 velcro straps (one on the calf and one on the knee) do the bulk of the work holding the pad on you leg, so they are easily adjusted for fit. All clip type straps are adjustable for pad position and removable (the top clip for example, I just removed since it hindered rotation). The knee protector is outstanding and its thigh wrap velcro attachment holds in place all game.
The bad: I'm not used to such a tall outer ridge on the pads and got scored on via a wraparound where I thought the pad was flat against the post, but the tall ridge allowed for a small gap between the post and the majority of the pad. Not a deal breaker, but just something I'll need to watch for.
Even though the pads are called white, they are more like a cream color. It's really noticeable when sitting next to the high end version (leather version). I first noticed it when I put my Zero G Halak gloves next to the pads...not a big deal, but the color shade difference is noticeable.
Overall..for the price..this is an outstanding deal and great pad. I'll be happy using this for the next several years.

For the money these are by far the best senior pads on the market. The design and make of them are just like the pro Zero Gs. Granted they are made overseas but dont let that discourage you, they look like they were made fresh out of the Brians factory in Canada. Super easy to slide in, rebounds fly off them and straight into corners, and butterfly is almost a perfect seal. There are a lot of customizable features on these pads so they work great for any style of goal tending. Only thing I don't like about them is the knee/thigh guard but that's a personal preference. They also took sometime to break in and get used to but once you find a perfect fit you'll be very glad you purchased them!

I've owned the new H Series pads for about a month and a half now and I love these pads. I'm coming from a pair of Warrior Swagger pads and there is no comparison between the two. Brian's H Series are far superior pads to the Warrior Swaggers. They are a stiff pad when new but soften up a lot once used a few times. They slide and rotate great! I highly recommend these pads!

I love my new set of Brian's H series. Everything fits awesome and the color scheme is amazing with the Halak Graphic The pads are lightweight well stitched together. Fun Pads easy to break in and should last a long time.
