Great Value
Pros: Great value, Quality
Cons: none
I recently started playing again after a 17 yr break. The almost new CCM752's I've been using were fine, but the finish was flaking off. I got these, baked them at home, and couldn't be happier. Great fit, solid performance and an excellent buy! I wear an 11.5 shoe and bought a size 10 just like the CCM size.

Great Skate ... BUT!!!!
Pros: Helped improve my game, Great value, Easy to use
Cons: they make a loud squeal when you stop!
This a a great skate ... and for the price its even better...BUT... if you have big feet like myself you may not want to get these. I got a size 12, and every time I would stop or slide in any fashion these skates would squeak like you were dragging your fingers down a chalk board. I had the runners changed and still not help. Easton said that they will do that for a while and then go away. Well after a month of use, still no change in the squeaking! I hated to get rid of them as they were a great skate... but if I had know they would sound like that I never would have bought them. I had kids stopping in practice thinking I had blown the whistle!
On the plus side... my son has a size 5.5 and they are excellent!

great attention to detail
Pros: Helped improve my game, Great value, Quality, Easy to use, Features, fit and comfort
The EQ40 is a terrific skate -- well fitting, light weight. It feels natural on your feet, makes it easy to skate (quick turns, stops, starts). It broke in well with a comfortable fit after the heat molding. After 2 skates, they feel like I've worn them for a year.
The removable insole is perforated and the Dry-Flow contains a mesh screen on the bottom for better ventilation. This is a big upgrade and I have not seen this on any other mfr's skate.
The real reason I bought them is for the contour around the ankle. My previous skates seemed to pinch my ankles (even after bake) and I had bruised ankles last year.

Good Purchase
Pros: Helped improve my game, Great value, Quality, Easy to use, Features
I just picked these up on clearance and really like them for the first time out. Fit well to my feet and gave me a good edge. Not sure of the durability since I just bought them. Great deal on clearance and joined the breakaway club for a 10% discount.

ok skate
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Quality
I just started skating. I don't have much to compare but I know that the eq40 may give you problems in the blades. The screws come lose a lot. Tried everything including loctight nothing will keep them tight. Took them to get sharpened at Total hockey and they didn't even notice the really lose blades. Real nice guys. Anyway only buy these if they are on clearence. Do not pay full price

Best Skates I've Ever Used
What attracted me to the Easton Synergy skate line was the fit. Most skates have a uniform fit throughout the boot, but the synergy line is narrow at the heel, and wider toward the forefoot. This may not be ideal for all feet, but for me, this fit is perfect.
The skates took about seven skatings to fully break in. The skates are very light, and the inside keeps very dry. They also have a great stiffness level, stiff enough to give you great energy transfer and protection, yet flexible enough to stay comfortable.
The EQ40's deliver on every point; comfortable, light, durable, and at a much lower price than comparable models from other brands. In a nutshell, these skates made me a better skater, improved my speed, my stride, and my turns. Everything you want, nothing you don't.

Great high end skate
Pros: Easy to use
Living in Iowa we don't have a lot of options, so I tried on the EQ20 at a store. I have to say the difference in quality between the 20 and the 40 is pretty great. The skate is comfortable right out of the box and is very similar to my Easton 1200C's which I loved. The skates are light, they look good and it seems as though Easton has improved the quality and durability in their entire line of skates.

eq40
Pros: Helped improve my game, Great value, Quality, Easy to use, Features
These skates are the best I have ever bought they are extremely comfortable and with the amount of foams used in them are decently light once they are molded they feel even more amazing and they are very comfortable out of the box. I cant comment on the durability yet but they seem to be made strong. The design is cool on these skates they look very high end the protection seems like it will be good since they are pretty stiff and have so much foam inside. On the tech side these skates perform great and just after the first skate I could tell the difference in my speed and turns the heal and tendon support is amazing and in cross overs make me feel more confident and strong great five star skate. I would recommend these to anyone with a wide forefoot and and narrow heal.
