Amazing upgrade

I just got back into the game after a 10 year layoff. Initially I had been playing with my old college skates, thinking there was no reason to purchase new. After talking to my teammates and seeing the newer models, I decided to invest in a new pair, the Vapor 5.0's. I had them heat molded, my foot is a EE size, and they were a perfect fit.
The first day I skated I noticed a huge difference in my cutting, stopping and quickness on the ice. The weight of the skate is a fraction of what I had been playing with, so I could see a boost in my speed. While lightweight, the boot can take a hard slapshot and keep you protected.
If you're looking for a great skate at an affordable price, this is the one for you.

Great Skates!!!

I bought these on sale in store and had them baked. First time on the ice I could feel the difference in my skating. They really maximized the power in my stride. They are very light, stiff, and warm. They do run narrow. I had to buy a EE width and I don't wear a wide width in any other shoe/boot I buy. However the EE width was perfect. You will not be disappointed with these skates.

Downgraded from vapor xxxx to x5.0
Pros: Great value, Quality, very light
In the middle of this winter season my vapor xxxx padding became so compressed that my medial malleolus was constantly pressing against the very stiff wall of the skate and the pain of this started to impede my play. I needed to buy a new pair of skates and did not want to spend $500 this time around. So I went with the x5.0 for $330. After finishing the winter season and playing most of my spring / summer season I am very impressed with the quality of this skate. The blade holder and runner are exactly the same as the xxxx so that made for an easy transition. As for the comfort of the boot there is much more generous padding than the xxxx and by going down a couple of levels to the x 5.0 I actually have some forward flex at the ankle that I lost with the xxxx - way too stiff. However these skates are plenty stiff. I would definitely bake them. I didnt but had to leave them in my car through a full day of work in 100degree heat n go straight to game. The heat of the car baked them and when I laced them up got an even better fit at the foot and heel. Also I would recommend superfeet yellow in-sole for arch support. This skate benefits from this upgrade.
In conclusion if you are a fan of the old Bauer supremes and hate the ski boot like stiffness of the top of the line skates of today try going down to the 5.0 like I did. bake them, get some super feet, and you will be very happy with the performance of this skate. I am interested in seeing reviews on the new nexus line. if anyone has feedback post it. I hope this has been helpful.

The guys at Total hockey are great. They helped me get fitted and I skated with the pair 2 days later. I was amazed at how great they felt. I felt no pain in my feet and they felt like i owned them for months. I will definetly be buying my next pair from Total Hockey. The guys really know what they are doing there.

I am a beginer and was skating with the Vapor x15's, and I decided to upgrade to a more quality skate. I chose these, and I cannot be happier! I got them heat molded at the store, and without breaking them in was skating faster, sharper and with way less effort than before. They are so light and have great support, and increased my indurance trifold. Buy these skates!

the 5.0 is a great pair of skates that is light and fast. I play twice a week and have noticed a lot of improvement in my game since I restarted playing 3 months ago. I am flat footed and have minimal to no foot pain when i skate. I have take some shots to the skates and it was not painful.
2 complaints I have is that the edge of the taung on my right skate is always rubbing on my medial malleoli causing a rash but that is cured with longer socks. Also, i can't seem to turn as sharp but that could be because of the way my blades are sharpened. Overall, I love the skates
