After testing out many gloves in stores, and doing some research, I decided on purchasing the EQ50 Elites, and they do not disappoint.
The design is a hybrid between modern tapered gloves and traditional four rolls, which gives the glove the perfect fit, not too snug, not too loose. The all nylon exterior shaves a little weight off the glove, keeps it dryer, and increases ventilation. My previous gloves were all leather, and my hands felt constantly hot in them, a problem I no longer have. The lining of the glove stays remarkably dry as well.
The EQ50's are not the most flexible off-the-shelf gloves on the market, but they offer much better protection than the gloves which are more flexible. With triple segmented fingers and a dozen or so uses, they break in quite nicely, just don't expect to pull them off the rack and perform sign language while wearing them. The adjustable cuffs are a nice touch, however they do not adjust as much as you might think. Still, some adjustability is better than none.
In terms of protection, they are the best gloves I've ever come across. The entire glove has multi-density foams with plastic inserts. I'm sure I've taken a bunch of slashes to the hands while wearing these, it's difficult to remember since you feel almost nothing while wearing them. The palms are also multi-layered for extra durability. $110 for a pair of gloves may seem steep, but you get what you pay for. These gloves are top of the line.
