Poor design, not comfortable
Cons: Difficult to use
The concept is fantastic, the design is poor and very uncomfortable. The bulky Velcro and the zipper make this terribly uncomfortable and a turn off. Suggestion would be a full one piece done with full stretch material - perhaps thin in the body and gradually thicker in the neck area to be firm enough to stay up without needing the velcro and zipper. I would buy version 2 if they did something like that......this one is going on eBay.

Let me start off by saying this garment does exactly what it says it will do. Having said that, if you're a rec league player (like me), this thing is overkill. I bought this, thinking it would be an even better version of the excellent Vapor performance top. Well, it isn't. This is for VERY serious players only. The neck has built in kevlar to protect against skate cuts - not something I think I'll need to worry about, thankfully. What's really odd are two features I just don't get: the neck is actually held together with a wide piece of velcro and the shirt itself zips up in the back! That's just weird - imagine pulling a shirt on, then having to connect velcro on the back of the neck AND having to zip it up right in the middle of your back. Good luck with that - you'd better be flexible.
Don't get the wrong idea - the shirt works, but it just seems like overkill. Maybe if I was an elite-level player, I'd appreciate the features of this shirt more. As it is, it just isn't practical for a once a week novice league player. If you're in the market for a great performance shirt (with grippers on the elbow to keep the pads in place), go with the Vapor long sleeve. You'll save yourself $20 and you'll get a much simpler, more practical garment.
