I bought this to replace a year-old, broken-down RBK c/a. I had grown tired of collar and bicep bruises and wanted something with better coverage and more durability. I got all that and more with this c/a. The Vaughn offers not only excellent rib, throat, and collar protection, it's also light and cool to wear. I've found I can play longer and stronger since I'm not overheating as quickly. It actually sits very lightly on your shoulders, almost feeling like you're wearing just a heavy jersey and not a big c/a. Protection is excellent. You'll still feel it if you get popped in the wrist above the cheater, but you won't bruise as easily. This unit is also very dead to rebounds, which helped me improve my game. Pucks drop right to your feet after hitting instead of rebounding out in front. Overall, it's about as perfect as I can expect. Highly recommended.
