Bauer Elite Chest Pads
Pros: Great value, Quality
On my second time out i took sevral hard slappers to the chest and arms. I felt the puck but no pain. It is light weight with a good range of motion. Well worth the price.

Best Value Chest Protector
Pros: Great value
I typically use a pro quality chest protector but went with the Bauer Elite model to save money. The mobility is about the same as the Pro model. The protection is sufficient to prevent bruises or injury from Junior A, D1 and minor pro shots and allows for a good feel for the puck. Not quite as protective as the Pro model but overall a great value.

Super lightweight, good protection
Pros: Helped improve my game, Great value, Quality, Easy to use, Features, super light weight
Cons: 'adjustable' arms aren't
The first thing you notice is the light weight, about a third less than my old RBK. Great flexibility, I can move my arms to nearly any position. Fit is close to the body with nice wrap around the ribs. Good weight balance on the shoulders. Arms lock into the body to completely cover the 7 holes (under arms). Solid protection, have taken 'A' league shots with no pain on chest or arms.
My only negative is that because I am skinny and have long arms I bought the medium for the body fit, and the elbow pad doesn't always cover me when my arm is fully stretched on the ice. Arm length is supposed to be adjustable, but arms are hard stitched into the body and I can't figure any way to make them longer. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see it.
I have solved this problem mostly by tightening the arms around the wrist very tight. This works ok, but the sliding blocker pads don't fully rotate in that position and on the catcher side the sliding pads face upwards at 45 degrees. This can deflect the puck up over the arm and into the top of the goal when in butterfly position.
These are my problems because of body type, though. Overall this is an excellent pad and I would recommend it to anyone. If you are long armed and skinny, I would tell you to get the large instead of the medium.
