Not Your Average Skate
Pros: Helped improve my game, Features
Cons: sole uncomfortable
I had read all of the positive reviews about these skates so I figured I would give them a try.
My previous skates were RBK 2K, so not a high level starting point to begin with for comparisons.
At first I actually had problems using them due to comfort and how they affect how you play.
I added new gel liner and a quick bake and they feel way way better...the first time out I was ready to sell them the next day due to how they hurt my feet and how they altered my playing..
Well...After sitting in the garage for a couple weeks, I decided to give them another try (added gel sole and bake since the first skate).
Sure glad I did because once I adjusted to how they made skate and move they are no longer for sale.....2 practices and 1 game later I am back on the band wagon with everyone else.
I do 100% recommend some sort of gel or foam sole and a quick bake....(went from terrible pain to a perfect fit) and to practice in them before jumping right into a game situation.
Best way I can describe the change is you are able to move way quicker (in all directions), plus it seemed to change my balance position.
You feel lightning fast with them....I was actually over skating and finding myself too far out or too wide....You push....you go....farther and faster then before.
All in all I think this was a great investment since you can directly see a performance improvement...as long as you want to be quicker across the crease and anywhere else..even to the corners or behind the net.
If your looking for new skates and something to give you an edge then I would not pass up these skates.

Pros: cowling design, light weight, performance
Cons: heel comfort, laces, footbed
Bought these skates after reading some good reviews about the new Vertexx cowling. I can say that out of the box and with a quick skate bake the skates performed above expectations even on the first skate. I'm really impressed with the new cowling design. Even though the steel was almost an inch shorter than my old skates I was able to get a MUCH better lateral push than with my old Koho 690s. The shorter skate blade feels a lot more mobile allowing me to navigate through the crease in a standing position more as well. My only complaint is the finish on the interior of the boot. While overall I would say the boot is light and comfortable, I have an issue with the inside heel part of the boot. Right on the inside of the heel cup, Bauer left the stitching exposed running up the base of the heel. Not a huge deal but every time I flex forward I feel the stitching press up against my heel. Luckily my skates fit pretty well and there's no heel slippage. I caution anyone considering these skates to get the correct sizing because any type of slippage would probably rub your heel raw or blister. This seems to be an issue with all the Bauer goal skates as even the one100s have this problem as well. It's a shame that this flaw is unique to the goal skates only since all the Bauer player skates have fabric which cover the corresponding heel seam. I'll probably try to fix it by adhering some moleskin or attaching a heel liner. One other negative is the quality of the laces and foot bed. Both are pretty poor quality, but this is true of most skates. I skate with Graf custom insoles anyways due to my unique arch support needs so this is a minor concern of mine. Aside from the design flaw of the heel cup, overall I'm happy with my purchase.

Very Nice Purchase
Pros: Helped improve my game, Quality, Easy to use, Features
I bought these skates and was a little skeptical at first, I am coming from CCM V-04's, and before those Nike Bauer One55's, I couldn't stand the One55's, but liked the feel of these skates, I will admit that I mainly got these because of the cowling design and it was worth every penny, they are almost as light as my shoe and after a good bake, they fit perfectly. The first time you step on the ice with them you notice a different feel, don't know how to describe it, but they just felt different. My lateral movement speed increased tremendously. The new cowling is amazing, you grip the ice just that much quicker, and being a butterfly style goalie, that is so important. Even after letting out a bad rebound, you can get over so much quicker without having to get up to stop the rebound.
