Bauer x40
Pros: Helped improve my game, Great value, Quality
Before I bought the x40's I was wearing RBK 6K shin pads and wanted something smaller, thinner, and lighter. The x40's were everything I was looking for. I can feel an increase range of motion and mobility in my stride, crossovers, and dorsiflexion at my ankles(forward lean). These shin pads are very comfortable worn behind or in front of skate tongue. They are very light and cool when on the ice. I have taken multiple slap shots off these pads and have not had any bruises or residual discomfort after the game. My only issue with these pads is there could be better calf protection that fully wraps around the back of my calf. These pads leave a good amount of unprotected space and my calfs are not that big. Overall these are the best shin pads I have used with regards to overall comfort, mobility, range of motion, ability to place in front of or behind skate tongue comfortably, and protection except for posterior calf protection. One last note Velcro straps are comfortable if placed around lightly, not as comfortable if placed snug but just use tape around top of shin pad and that is all you need to hold it in place.

great protection for a lower price point
Pros: Great value, Quality, Easy to use, Features
These shinguards are very comfortable. Leg straps are great and no tape is needed. I could not find anything wrong with it, overall they are very comfortable,Durable, and are at a low price point. Another pro is they are not as bulky as other brands.

Good shingaurds
Pros: Easy to use, Features
These shingaurds are by far the most comfortable I've ever owned. The have a nice feature for the leg strap. The only thing I could find wrong with it was that alot of my socks would rip the velcro off so the shingaurd isn't attached anymore, but they are very protective and comfortable.

Good shins
Pros: Easy to use, Features
You don't need tape with the straps. Great protection and padding. I have only had then for two weeks so I can't comment on durability. The only problem I had is with the bottom. I like to tuck my tongue under the shin pad. With the bottom strap tight it causes the skate to give me a brush burn. The easy fix is to go loose on the bottom or wear long socks. I would buy again.

Amazing
Pros: Helped improve my game, Great value, Quality, Easy to use, Features
Both X:60s and X:40s are awesome and I went with these because of the price. I don't think there really is a need for me to have the X:60s other than to show them off. The 40s are perfect. I went from rebook 4ks 13 to the x40 14. Fits perfect and is a little bit smaller around ankle so I have more mobility. You can really tighten these down to and it's not uncomfortable at all. They lock in place and I have a lot more confidence playing and my legs don't shake because I had to really tighten my old ones to stay in place. I don't even use hockey tape around my skates.
The only completely minor draw back to these is if you have them tight and you go to put your socks over them the velcro sticking out sticks to the socks a lot. At least they are in the front though so it's easier to maneuver the sock around them.

Best Shin Pads Ever
Pros: Helped improve my game, Great value, Quality, Easy to use, Features, keep you cool
These Shin Pads are awesome. They are light, and protect your knee and shins very well. The mobility that you have with them is phenomenal. I love how it's two piece so that as your knee bends so does the shin (at the knee) which allows for air flow to keep you cool and dry. Save your money, no need to buy X60, just go with the X40 you won't be disappointed!
