A little heavy, but incredible protection

I bought these pants expecting a major upgrade in quality of protection from my old ones and I wasn't disappointed. The padding is well designed and everything works really well. I've had these for almost a year now and have yet to even feel a hit or puck that lands anywhere covered by these pants. With that said, I was a little disappointed by how heavy they are. As I've upgraded from my 15-year-old gear, I've really enjoyed how much lighter everything is now. But these pants are actually heavier than my old Cooper Techniflex pair. Now, with that said, I don't feel it when I'm skating and can't say it affects my intermediate men's league abilities at all. I was just expecting less weight for something current and upper-mid-range in price. That's all. Bottom line: I'd recommend these to any recreational players who want excellent protection without having to spend over $100.00.
