Pros: Great value
My 5 year old is just starting out and I felt this was good entrey level. Compared to the pro shop I saved about $40 buying it here.
I like the fact the helmut is a bit heaver because my kid likes to head but the bigger kids.

Bauer 1500 Helmet Combo
Pros: Easy to use, Great value, Quality
For a beginner helmet, I think this helmet is just fine. This is my kid's first year in hockey, and at her age and size, I have no reservations about sending her out on the ice with this helmet. The padding doesn't seem like it would be the most comfortable, but she's not complaining about comfort, and she says it feels good. I think it will protect her little dome just fine.

I was a little worried purchasing a cheap helmet combo. But once i tried it on it fit perfect. its held up quite nicely. ive owned it for 6 months now. The only thing i dont like about it is the high neck line. other than that. Best helmet mask combo for the money.

I got this helmet used for about 6 bucks, and i have to say its not very comfortable, but this will protect you from a truck. It is a little bit heavy, but i think thats because im not used to hockey helmets, the faceguard bolts tend to rust very quickly, and the pads are cheap looking, but when you put it into use, where it counts, it will save your life, and thats all that matters, Right?

I have been playing for 13 years and when i was strapped for cash and needed a new helmet so i got this one and let me tell you worst hetmet I'v had the displeasure to have on my head the fitting is wierd the padding (even with the very little thats in it.) is so hard and painfull if you get hit i dont think its very safe at all. dont get me wrong Bauer has the best gear in hockey i think but you can spend $15.00 more and get a 5100 wich is a much better helmet or if you get the helmet thats best ever the Bauer 9500 you only spend $40.00 more and get the best helmet ever they are way better than this on a scale of one to ten i give the 1500 a -4 and give the 9500 a complete and total 10!!!!!!!! dont waist your money because a more expencive helmet is much cheaper than a hospital bill for head injurys. Go Bauer!!!!!!

When my son out grew his Nike/Bauer 1500S Helmet combo I was dreading spending the $80-100 it would cost to replace. Then I checked Total Hockey and found it for half that price. It was a no brainer. I ordered it right away. I ordered tape and a mouth guard also. In just a few minutes online my shopping was done. It shipped and arrived in just 3 or 4 days. Thanks Total hockey for making the sport of hockey a little more affordable.
