It does it's job. My son is a Mite Travel goalie and he has no problems playing with it. It is not taking really hard shots due to his age, but it has held up very well so far. He wears it with a Bauer 4500XS standard helmet/cage and it fits just fine.

Cons: Hindered my development
This throat guard is not too bad, it has its ups and downs. its a very tall guard which makes it good for surface area protection and it is very durable, but the shape of the design is what brings it down. when looking from side to side it gets caught up on my chest protector and occasionally gets turned vertically from the ice. it obstructs the view when i have to try to look through it and the rattle it makes when in that position is annoying. when it gets stuck vertically it opens up my neck which takes away the protection
overall its a good bang for your buck and protective, but when i have to look from side to side it gets caught up on my chest protector a lot.

Cons: little bit heavy
Recently I purchased this goalie neck guard from total hockey. First words that come to my mind are perfect and durable. This Neck guard has to be one of my best goalie gear purchases I have ever bought. The strings are perfect length for any goalie size and the thickness of the guard keeps even the hard shots that deflect by mistake from hurting. The shape of the neck guard covers up pretty much the entire front part of your neck(so there are no holes or weak points). The Weight is perfect yet feels a little heavy, once you play with it on you wont notice a difference.
