These kneepads provide great protection from shots/pucks, but the limited amount of interior padding causes terrible bruising from simply going down into the butterfly.
I bought these because the Vaughn Velocity 7460s were also giving me terrible knee bruising from going into the butterfly, but these pads are only marginally better.
The padding on the inside of the knee portion is so thin that you're basically slamming your knee down onto hard plastic every time you go down. There is padding in the center that protects the very middle of your knee cap, but there is no padding towards the sides, and the inside of your knee is where it should be padded the most.
I'm looking into trying to add some foam rubber padding to make these useable, or hopefully finding a brand of knee/thigh guards that don't cause the terrible bruising from routine use.
My only other complaint is that the thigh guards don't have long enough straps. Anyone who plays goalie enough will develop large thigh muscles, and these pads do not accommodate that very well. They are uncomfortably tight at the loosest velcro spot.
