Wife bought this for me after seeing Crosby take a puck to the face. I was against wereing it at first but after playing with it a couple games it is comfortable and gives me more confidance to shot block.

I used to have an old used ITECH combo mask and it was the best mask I ever had. Fortunately I found this one, which I still believe is the best mask out there if you prefer a clear shield as opposed to a cage. I have also used the full ITECH shield (w/ no cage) and I found that it was tougher to breathe easily through. The combo shield, I think, helps you breathe better and be able to see clearly (with some anti-fog assistance).

The Mask was great but it fogs up after you've been playing for a while. I used anti-fog wipes on the mask and that still didn't help. I finally had to just wipe down the mask with a towel when I was on the bench.

I suppose I should wait to review this since I've only played one game with this shield, but I love it so far. I could not get used to the cage, and used to have the full clear shield from Itech years ago, so I got this to replace the cage. Much better vision, no fogging problems (yet), very happy at this point.
For those wondering if it will fit their helmet, I've got a CCM v05 (I think) size L, and got the L size shield.

This is by far the best mask available. I switched from a full clear mask to this one because I thought I had a bright idea of using rain-x anti fog on it, which worked great until it started eating away at the shield.
This mask offers you the vision of a half shield with out the fogging issues of the full clear shield. It fits perfect on my M11 nice and snug with out any extra play. I would definitely recommend this shield to someone looking for a new mask.

You buy a face mask for protection!!! Anything else is just icing.
After taking a puck to the grill this winter, it was time to put a cage on. So I bought a new Bauer 9500 helmet with cage and dropped the cage for the half shield/mask. I wanted the unobstructed view of the shield but have full face protection.
The lower cage allows more airflow than a full shield and the half upper shield gives you less obstructions to your vision. Its not perfect, but its the best of both worlds and I get to keep my teeth. Maybe if I made what Duncan Keith makes to play hockey (or any money at all to play hockey) I'd be less concerned.
Anyway... the shield mainly steams up when you hit the bench and the air flow stops from skating around. Its a full mask, so its a pain to lift up to get water and wipe sweat off of, etc... but again... its FOR PROTECTION!!!!
