Pros: Helped improve my game, Great value, Quality, Easy to use, Features, best performing, highest protection level, lightest i've worn, great lacebite protection, good for wider foot, more durable, great holder and blade
Cons: Expensive, not for slim foot
I purchased these skates during the early summer on sale. I just came from a pair of 1500C's I used for many years with no problems but they began showing a lot of wear. It took a little time to readjust to the slightly different fit but after that the S-17's where almost perfect. These skates where more comfortable than anything else I tried while shopping different popular brands. They are also some of the lightest skates on the market to date and offer unbelievable protection which is something very important to me. They perform and respond better than, or as well, as any other brands I have ever worn and give me explosive starts and turns. The balance on the holders and blades is nothing short of amazing and I skate much better both forwards and backwards during the odd time I play defence. The tongue is thick and protects from lacebite and gives you nice flex for a comfortable skating stride. The new rubberized toe cover improves the durablility which, overall has greatly improved from the previous S-15 offering. I have no wearing issues whatsoever after three months of continual intense use. I love the appearance of these skates, their super sharp looking and have attracted a lot of positive comments. The S-19 seems to run a little wider than my previous 1500's and I needed to go up to an 8.5 from an 8 to get essentially the same feel. Other than that I feel they will last as long or longer than my previous pair of Eastons did because they really feel much more durable. I am very happy I switched to Easton when they stopped making the Tacks line because they are a silmilar fit and a much superior performing skate. As long as they keep making the composite skate I'll stick with Easton because they are simply the best skate that works for me.
