These skates are extremely light and very responsive to quick movement. I had the skates baked and have not had any blisters pop up. They feel like I have had them for a couple seasons. They are a great investment!!

X:20s to these. Reason: tung protection.. I've gotten hit so many times buy the one spot the X:20s can't protect. That's why I went the step up and then some. I tried going with the X:60s but even on sale $400 for skates? I guess why not but nobody had my size and they're very, very stiff all around. X:40s are not lose either but they're not as harsh to break in either. Over all protection and they wear in fast. Underrated skates and I recommend buying before they all sell out.

What an upgrade!

I went into X:40's from a pair of Mega Air 90's from back in the day. I had quit playing for almost 11 years, then started back up about a year ago. I kept the old Megas going as long as I could, but a shot put a hole the size of a quarter in one of the runners and I finally took the plunge. Wow! What a difference 15 years of technology makes. These are pretty light, have great protection and just perform really well. For a beer leaguer, I don't know why I would ever need a higher level skate. My feet are somewhere between the typical D and E widths, so I was a little worried when I tried these on out of the box. They felt really tight across the ball of my foot, even through the baking process. I wore them for about 5 hours at home over the course of a few days before I finally hit the ice. The break-in was tough, but not as bad as back in the day, and these skates are going to last. You can just tell they're solid and now they fit like a pair of gloves and I couldn't be happier.

Right out of the heater these skates delivered a perfect fit. They are light and give a great feel for the ice. I also have Graf's and those are more like a cadillac, these Bauer's are like a corvette!!
If you're looking for a light responsive skate, these are for you!

I am new to skating, but these skates have drastically improved my ice skating. I have even received many complements on my skates from many different intermediate hockey players. The staff at total hockey were extremely helpful when sizing me for my skates.

I was looking to buy a new pair of skates after retiring my old CCM tacks. This skate was recommended to me by the Total Hockey staff.
I am very happy with the the skates. I like the skate's comfort, stiffness, and support.
My only complaint is a little bit of lace bite.

Cons: the tongue is not as protective as they say
i have been in bauer skates for about 18 years i love these skates and they only get better as the years past i have tried ccm easton in the past they all were giving me problems i have a narrow foot as well as being flat footed and maybe my foot grew into the design of bauer before i bought this skate i did try on easton reebok and still didnt fit my foot like bauer. this skate is the most i spent on so far and it is a great skate to play hours in without discomfort or blisters. i cant wait to get the 60's down the road

I got these skates back in March. Had them baked and they felt perfect the first time on ice. The TUUK holder are excellent as well give you a great feel for the ICE. Stiff boot, I was using CCM SuperTaks prior that were much softer but with the stiff boot and more aggresive stance I noticed a little difference in my skating. Turns were much better. Have had them through 7 games so far this season and they are still like I just took them out of the box! Durability is good so far.

Bought these skates in March '10 to replace an older pair of CCM Tacks. I hadn't really skated in a good 5-6 years, so I was all too happy when the skate holder on the Tacks broke forcing me to buy a new pair!! We mainly rent ice out once a week or so with a bunch of guy to have fun. Not too organized. So I don't need top of the line skates.
I really liked the look of the Baur Vapors, so that's where I started. Not skating in several years, I didn't have much else to go on to start my search.

I can be cheap... so I started with the X:20s. They felt good and the price was right! How about the X:30s? They're not too much more and they feel even better!!. Let's just try the X:40s, but I know I'm not spending the $330 on them. Doh!!! They're that much better thanthe X:20s, I just had to get them!! Won't even dare try n the X:50s or X:60s!
I've been skating almost weekly on them for about 4 months. I love them!!! They skate like a dream. They're comfortable, supportive, yet have enough flex I don't feel like I'm skating in a downhill ski boot. Totally recommend!!!
I typically where a 10.5-11 shoe and went down to an 8 in these. I probably would have been better in an 8.5, but they didn't have it and I needed them that day. Hasn't been a problem!
