My Son has been wearing this neck guard for several years and loves the protection and comfort. I researched neck guards and found this to be the most protective for forwards and defencemen. I spoke to the inventor of this neck guard and she came up with the design to better protect her boys who were playing hockey at the time. This guard adds additonal protection on the sides of the neck where the vital arteries are. Very comfortable to wear. Made of the same materials that bulletproof vests are made of. Cost a little more than the others but well worth the price in protection and comfort
