Graf Canada LTD. Goalie Cowling

New for 2012, the Graf replacement goalie cowling has gone through an addition by subtraction process for 2012. Gone is the traditional Grilamid toe cap (an additional bump out strip at the end of the toe cap) and the additional material on the forward inside edge of the cowling previously used to support additional Overdrive blades. In addition to removing the Overdrive blade mount, the forward inside edge of the cowling has been cut back dramatically. The end result is a cowling that is 30% lighter, and it also allows the cowling to be tipped farther towards the inside edge before making contact with the ice. Goalies who like to keep lower to the ice but still want a cowling that allows for a greater attack angle will really love this new cowling for 2012.Sold in pairs. * 30% reduction in weight from previous model * Allows for a greater attack angle when pushing laterally * Fits all Graf skates * Comes with steel * Comes in full sizes only. When ordering for half sizes, order the half size down (i.e. size 9.5 skates need a size 9 cowling)

much better than expected
Pros: Features
I'm used to the height of the Vertexx cowling so I was afraid that I'd bottom out much easier when using the Graf cowlings. However, I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't notice much of a difference in my lateral movements - especially from the butterfly. I still think that the attack angle on the Bauer's is better, but those who want to be lower to the ice will really like these.
