Sherwood Hockey RM19 AD Reg Shaft Stick

The Sher-Wood RM19 Composite Stick is constructed using high modulus carbon fiber, which makes for a great strength-to-weight ratio. The shaft of the RM19 is extremely durable as well, as it is manufactured with special 100% Aramid weave on the top layer. This will also better resist impact and abrasion problems. The RM19 blade is made of filament fiberglass and polyurethane foam with 45-degree tri-axial woven carbon fibers. This maximizes the energy transfer and blade deflection while keeping the blade very lightweight.Red Shaft Dimensions: .785 X 1.180Blue Shaft Dimensions: .745 X 1.140THE STASTNY BLADE PATTERN IS AVAILABLE IN RED SHAFT DIMENSIONSTHE RYAN BLADE PATTERN IS AVAILABLE IN BLUE SHAFT DIMENSIONS

GREAT STICK!
Pros: Great value, Quality
For fifty bucks this is a no brainer. I've been using Sherwood for the past 5 years and have always been impressed with their stick durability. To those who say they are breaking this stick on the first or second skate, well, that can happen with any stick.
The RM19 is a solid twig. I'm only 5'8 so getting a 75 flex is necessary with as much of the stick as I have to cut off. It still has some flex when I'm done and is incredibly light.
You can't go wrong with a $50 composite, the Sherwood RM19 is a winner.

Great VALUE... for the Right Player
Pros: Helped improve my game, Great value, Easy to use
A couple of things about this stick...
I an "Over-40 C Player" (Adult size Medium) and skate at least twice per week. I originally purchased the Stasny/P-26 blade w/ the 75-flex in Spring,'13 -- and it lasted for 6-months.
This Sherwood stick is EXTRA LONG (no plugs needed for XL skaters) and I easily cut off 6-inches when I got it.
The 75-flex will make it more flexible (and potentially more breakable, too?) than most other adult sticks.
I had been using a different brand's high-end (extra light) stick and found that when the puck was passed to me, it would bounce right of the stick - never stop on the stick. With the RM-19, the stick has enough weight so that the puck stops on the stick much more frequently.
I'm not so sure about it being a $210 "retail value", but what do you want in a $50 stick?!?!
At $50, it's a STEAL... and practically DISPOSABLE, too!!
I just purchased 2 more (1 red + 1 blue) that I expect to last well over a year from now (w/ better care on and off the ice than my 1st RM-19). Also, there is a NOTICEABLE difference in the width of the shaft between the "blue" and the "red" models - the red is "standard" and the blue is "thin".
In summary....
At $50, I believe this to be a GREAT VALUE for a beginner / intermediate player (not necessarily your A/B player w/ strength and power on the ice).

Stick broke on my first skate
Cons: Quality, lasts for half a game
This garbage stick broke when I stick lifted someone during its first skate.
Its not completely shattered but the top of the blade has a huge chunk missing and it wont last past a few slap shots.

Not worth the savings
Cons: Quality, craftsmanship, durability
There is a reason this stick is on clearance. Lasted 6 adult league games and broke. Lower shaft of stick is vey weak. I believe there is a manufacturer design flaw thus the reason for the huge discounts on these sticks. Stick broke with a little stick check from opposing player. My trust of Sherwood is gone. Back to Easton or Bauer.
